Here are a few things I saw many people say:
1. I feel like I am old enough and should be able to manage it on my own.
2. Being a man, it is expected that I should handle these things myself.
3. This is my problem and I need to figure out the solution. What can anybody else do?
Why do we burden ourselves so much? Because we assume that people will judge us. That seeking help will bother others. That we are the only ‘defective piece’ and everybody else is ‘normal.’
This is how we keep increasing our burden.
But what if we put that burden down? A bag is heavy only when it is on our shoulders. If you put it down, it has no weight at all.
I would like to end with a few reminders:
1. Very few people are inclined to judge you. Truth be told – they are busy with their own problems.
2. Most traps are in our mind. We can walk out anytime.
3. Nobody expects you to pull through life without ever seeking help.
4. There is no such thing as a perfectly normal person. Everybody is abnormal, albeit in a different way.
