Today, the access we have to stellar books, podcasts, videos, and blogs is mind-boggling. And yet, if we are not careful, it can quickly become a feel-good swamp.
Most of the content we consume is about building a better life — e.g., building skills, inculcating habits, creating wealth, etc.
But consuming this kind of information without acting on it is like being a chef who keeps chopping veggies but never gets to the business of cooking. What good is that?
I am not suggesting that you stop consuming books or podcasts but make it an alternating cycle of learning followed by action to implement it. Then repeat.
If you find yourself consuming a lot of information without taking action — stop. You are now in that feel-good swamp.
To step out of it, take action and allow yourself to consume the next book/episode only as a reward 🙂
