You should envy Warren Buffett and the late Charlie Munger — I certainly do.
But not because of their billions.
But because of how happy and joyful they are.
In their 90s, they have the infectious enthusiasm and curiosity of a 25-year-old. They have a point of view on everything and call out bullshit without caring if they offend anyone (especially, the late Charlie Munger). To put it politely, they don’t give a damn.
So don’t envy their money, envy their freedom. And their love for their craft of “investing.”
But one could argue that it is their billions that have bought them that freedom. Is that so?
Just look around and you will find plenty of billionaires who won’t dare to utter one politically incorrect thing or offend anyone powerful. In fact, most of them seem to be more in chains than a rickshaw-puller.
Once you have a certain minimum amount of money, the real deal in life is not money — it is finding love in your craft. And the freedom to speak your mind without caring about what others think.
