Extraordinary outcomes come from consistency

If you want to lose weight, become fit, or add some muscle mass, the internet has an unlimited menu of diet plans, nutritional supplements, and hacks.

But why not look at what the world’s fittest people eat? Arguably, the US Navy SEALs go through one of the most grueling training programs known to man. And what supplements do they take?

Nothing. In fact, SEALs are not allowed supplements.

Instead, here is their recommended dietary regimen:

1. 1000 mg calcium every day for which the 3 glasses of milk are recommended daily. This is needed since they undergo inhuman physical strain (they have the highest stress fracture rates in the world).

2. 1000 mg of Vitamin C, for which a glass of orange juice and some fruits suffice.

3. Good hydration.

4. A well-balanced diet, with lots of colors on the plate. Creatine, a popular muscle-building supplement, is not allowed. In fact, supplements can even cause problems.

I am NOT saying that supplements are always problematic but before we start looking for fancy supplements and exotic diets, there is a simple solution right in front of us – a balanced healthy diet!

But our mind doesn’t want simple – it wants eclectic solutions.

Be it health, success, or happiness, extraordinary outcomes come from consistency and the daily grind, not from some clever hack.

Until we accept this, we will spend all our lives going around in circles.
